I was planning for a long getaway for my block leave. However, my boyfriend wasn't able to take leave and my dear friends and family wasn't able to match my dates. It was partly due to the fact that I only managed to confirm my block leave 3 weeks ago.
Who would be stupid enough to rot at home for one freaking week right? In the end, we decided to have a short getaway to Johor Bahru...

After our work and short OT we rushed to the Woodland checkpoint around 8.30pm.
Friday+ peak hour.....The massive crowd makes me wanna cry:'(
After clearing woodland checkpoint, we had to take a bus to the JB checkpoint. NOW, this is where I get cheated. I still feel sibeh dulan over it. When I board the bus, I asked the bus uncle how much is the fare for one person. He stared at me blankly. So I asked again"3 RM?" He kept silent. I assume that it was 3RM so i gave him 6 RM. When I got to the back of the bus. Some guy told us that It was 2RM each. I know it's only 2RM lah but then how can the bus uncle be so dishonest? Why didn't he tell us that oh we paid extra or told us the correct fare?? why huh why?

We reached JB CITY SQUARE at 9.30pm and bought SIM card from DIGI store at 1.5GB data at 20RM (if I'm not wrong it's level 2 beside 7eleven). It is dam easy to find since it's very near the flyover entrance.
When we finally settled down at DIN TAI FUNG for dinner at 9.45pm. The service staff told us that they were closed. Bobian dabao KFC back to our hotel lor.
Using our new SIM card, we booked GRAB to Mutiara hotel at the price of 5RM (after $4 off discount code).

It's only about 10mins drive and 3km away from JB City Square.
I booked Superior room from hotels.com at 213.19RM (around S$65)
At the hotel, you have to pay 10RM for tourism tax and 100RM deposit per night.
Only the deposit will be refunded back to you after you check out.

I really love the room because of the size(32 square metre) and the King size bed. The entire room floor is fully carpeted. The wifi was excellent, we could watch HK dramas without any loading problem. We were super satisfied with the room until we found out that the bathtub stopper is spoiled. Sibeh mood spoiler. I booked this hotel just for the bathtub and the bathtub had to be spoilt. The staff told us that the technician can only come the next day to fix the bathtub. I was very reluctant shift to another Superior room with 2 twin bed since there wasn't another Superior room with King size bed.

The good thing about the Superior room is that there's a mirror beside the TV to put your makeup. It feels like a dressing table meant for you. I realised that all their furnitures abit lao gu dong which means the hotel is very very old.
Note: The Studio Suite room doesn't have the dressing table.

I went to reception to check if we were able to shift back to our King size bed Superior room and Mr. P. Sammathen served me professionally. He could empathize our situation that we had to shift our rooms due to bathtub issues. After doing his checks and all, he came to us and told us that he is upgrading our room to a suite with NO EXTRA CHARGE. I was like WOAHHH THANKS! I wasn't expecting an upgrade but very thankful for it. He just literally change my impression of the hotel and honestly I will definitely recommend this hotel to the people around me.

THONG THAI MASSAGE
This massage place is just directly below our hotel. It's less than one minute walk. I've read some good reviews about this place so we decided to give it a shot

After shiok leg massage, we went to Holiday Plaza that is directly beside the massage place. I bought some girl stuff below and damage only 100RM=S$32.26) after bargaining.

I kinda doubt the authenticity of the two glitter OPI nail polish. The two glitter nail polish was 10RM each while the top coat was 20RM each.

This is situated at KSL level 2, LOT L2-132C. We had 3 combination of duck, roast pork and honey char siew and watercress soup. Bua long long juice is very sour and herbal tea is the sweet kind. Damage: 58.75RM=S$19
Kingsman: Golden Circle movie @ 28.30RM=S$9.10 for two person
The seaweed i bought two packs actually and one pack has 12 small packets.
Damage: 136.60RM=S$44
KSL City : Kinsahi Japanese restaurant
This place is situated @ LOT LG-1A LEVEL.
V.full meal @ 94.55RM = S$30.50
Our GRAB ride back to Mutiara hotel was ONLY 1RM (after discount code) during peak hr.
Mutiara hotel surprised me with this birthday cake. I would say that they were very generous for giving me the entire cake. I am very thankful for the arrangements made by the hotel. It is the human touch that melts the heart of the guest. I am definitely going back to this hotel.

Day 3 was rather relaxing. We went to Thong thai again for body massage this time round. I don't know if the massage is good or not but all i know is ...SHIOOKKKKKK! HHAHAH!
Last lunch at Holiday Plaza basement.
Sarawak Kolo Mee, Char Siew Rice and Sweet and sour Chee Cheong fun @ 22RM; S$7.10
After which, we took GRAB back to City square at only 2RM during non peak hr.
Saw this cute buns at City Square on the way back.
